Reserving Housing and Didactic Space
Please contact us no less than
3-6 months before the projected start date of your program to ensure an
arrangement best adapted to your program.
Once you have contacted La Màgia Institute
planning will begin. Please be sure to have your program dates and
an approximate number of students in mind. We will determine what our
availability is based on your dates and group numbers.
Cost
Cost is based on duration of program, number
of students, and time of year. Our busiest time of year is
May/June, when many universities look to host short term programs in
Rome. May/June is also one of the nicest times of year, in terms
of weather, thus the city becomes virtually invaded by people from all
over the world.
Cost may be adjusted according to length of stay.
When and if an agreement is reached a contract and invoice
will be issued by La Màgia to your institution. In addition to the
faculty and per student costs, a damage and utilities deposit is
included in the total cost of housing and/or didactic space. The damage
and utilities deposit is used to cover gas, electricity, and telephone
consumption (by students and faculty over the course of programs
exceeding two months), as well as final cleaning (done upon the
departure of the group) and any eventual damages. Utility
consumption is monitored through out your stay by meter readings.
Cost is calculated at the end of your stay and deducted from the deposit
amount. The remainder of the damage and utilities deposit is then
returned to your institution by check.
Payment
General terms of payment require that 30% of the total
cost for your program be paid on receipt of the invoice to reserve the
space to which you have agreed. Once the 30% has been paid, the
remaining 70% can be paid at any time up to 30 days before the projected
start date of your program. Payments made after 30 days before the
projected start date of your program will be subject to penalties.
While payment is preferred, by wire transfer, in euro-
payment can also be made by US check or wire transfer in the equivalent
dollar amount. Because La Màgia Institute is based in Rome, invoices are
issued in euro.
Changes and
Cancellations
Changes to a contract, once agreed to
and signed by both parties, can be made. In the event of a group
enlargement an amendment to the original invoice will be made and
re-issued. In the event that the group becomes smaller, the
difference will be credited to the overall payment. Prolonging
your group's stay will be calculated on a per person per night basis and
added to the total cost and an amended invoice will be issued.
Cancellations can be made up to 30 days before the
projected start date of your program with a 70% refund. Refunds
cannot be made for cancellations made within 30 days of the projected
start date of your program.
