mainly Architecture programs in Rome, but today hosts programs from diverse
disciplines. As LMI continues to grow, so does its network of faculty,
administrators, students, and professionals in Rome. Thus, taking
advantage of La Màgia's services gives each program a unique opportunity for enrichment
both on an individual and group basis.
Please visit the La Màgia
Services page to see how your program might benefit from cooperation
with LMI.
La Magia offers the following:
student and faculty housing in the Centro Storico, Trastevere, Monti and
other neighborhoods in Rome; studio/didactic space in Trastevere and the
Centro Storico; assistance with arrival and filing of necessary Italian

without a Rome campus.

Architecture Programs
Faculty and staff development is possible with La Màgia
given the wide network of architecture professionals, both Italian and
American, in Rome. The large network of American programs in Rome
also lends to development of curriculum and showcases the wide variety
of study done- from baroque to fascist to post-modern architecture.
La Màgia offers modest housing facilities in
some of the most popular neighborhoods in Rome, to students and faculty.
Students usually live in multiple-person apartments or dorm-style
residences shared with other students.
Didactic space for studio, classes and guest lectures are available
upon reservation for individual events, studio space, or a semester long
program.

Permit of Stay
The Permit of Stay or Permesso di Soggiorno is required
by Italian law for stays over 90 days. Currently, the application
process for obtaining the permit is carried out through the Italian
Post. La Magia helps navigate students and faculty through this
process by staying up to date on developments in Italian immigration
law.
Declaration of Presence
The Declaration of Stay or Dichiarazione di Presenza is
required by Italian law for students and faculty participating in
programs under 90 days upon entrance into Italy from another Schengen
country. The declaration is done for the traveler at Customs and
Immigration if entrance into Italy is from a non-Schengen country, with
a stamp from Italian authorities.
